The Architects Registration Board has recommended that guidance be given to organizations involved in the process and procedures supporting the recruitment or employment of Architects for providing architectural services in Jamaica. The Architects Registration Board is of the opinion that good employment practice can contribute positively to the effectiveness and experience of visiting Architects practicing in Jamaica.
The Architects Registration Board is proposing that organizations involved in the process of employment or recruitment be appraised of the Laws of Jamaica governing the practice of Architecture and that they comply with specific minimum standards as set out in the Architect Registration Act 1987 namely:
- Architects must be registered and in good standing with their local Architectural Body.
- Architects must operate in collaboration with a Jamaican Architect licensed to practice.
- Architects must register for a Temporary License with the Architects Registration Board of Jamaica.
- Architects must pay all the required fees associated before any work is undertaken.
